San Diego home prices really started to strengthen this last summer. In fact, summer is “home buying season” and it’s not uncommon see this trend of market strength and demand continue into the fall.
At some point just before Thanksgiving, demand lessens as families put kids get back into school and we all prepare for the holidays.
But, not this year!
In 2012, the summer market momentum not only continued into the holidays…it picked up steam! Remember, the chart below shows a change in median price (the price at which half of all home sold for more and half sold for less). In other words, while the trend line on the chart shows us the direction of the market, changes to various homes and neighborhoods may be different.
